Whole Wheat Waffles

Ingredients

4 servings

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Steps

  • Separate eggs. Beat whites until stiff. Set aside.
  • Beat yolks until fluffy. Add milk and mix well. Add brown sugar, oil, flour, baking powder, & salt. Mix well until blended. Fold in egg whites.
  • Bake in waffle iron until done.

  • A. 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • B. 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled

  • Preheat your waffle iron while you make the batter.
  • Mix dry ingredients (A) then sift. Change
  • Mix wet ingredients (B) exept butter then pour into dry ingredients. Add melted butter then mix well. Change
  • Use a spoon to scoop batter into the waffle iron, lightly greased if your iron requires it. Cook as directed by your machine. Change Change

    Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tbs baking soda
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 4 egg yolk
  • 1 cup half & half or milk or buttermilk
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 4 egg whites
  • Steps

  • First pass all dry ingredients through a strainer in a mixing bowl. Flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Whisk all dry ingredients together until one. Change
  • Separate 4 eggs whites from yolk. Set aside egg whites for later use. In another mixing bowl add melted butter,half and half, vanilla, and butter. Mix well
  • Add wet to dry and blend well until batter has a thick consistency. Change
  • Lastly, whip your egg whites until it reaches a peak almost making it thick and whip cream like then add your egg whites to the batter. This is what will make your waffles fluffy. Change Change Change

    Ingredients

  • Wet Ingredients
  • Make the “egg”
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon energy egg replacer
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • Make the ”Buttermilk”
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 3/4 cup milk of your choice
  • Remaining wet ingredients
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dry ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Steps

  • Make the “egg” by combining the warm water and ener(g) together. In a separate bowl add milk and vinegar. Set aside.
  • Melt the coconut oil.
  • In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar Change
  • Combine all the wet ingredients and pour into the dry ingredients. Do NOT overmix!!! Change
  • Spray or lightly brush oil in preheated waffle iron. Change
  • Scoop waffle batter onto the iron. I use a 4 oz ice cream scoop. Change
  • Cook until golden brown and serve! Change
  • Alternatively. Allow it to thoroughly cool on a wire rack and wrap in heavy duty tin foil and freeze. When ready to eat, pop it in the oven with tinfoil and allow it to heat thoroughly at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. This allows it to keep the moisture in while crisping it back up again!
