Crockpot Corn beef and Cabbage

  • 1 Corn beef brisket
  • 6 small potatoes
  • 1 small bag carrots
  • 1 cabbage
  • Steps

  • Add corn beef brisket and submerge in water until just covers.. season with spice packet, salt pepper and garlic and cover high 4-6hrs
  • At this point take out and slice, cover for an hour Change
  • Now add carrots and potatoes for two hours covered then add chopped cabbage and cover. Change
  • About hour season, stir, and cover stew… Will look like this when time to stir… (I re-season then to salt, pepper, garlic (lightly salt corn beef salty as is) Change
  • Cook for another hour or two depending on your desire of tenderness in meat and cabbage.(note if your veggies are soft but you want your meat to soften more, remove veggies to a bowl and cover and set aside until meat reaches desired tenderness. Then add and gently mix together. Turn heat off give 5 minutes to marinate then serve) Change
  • Cabbage cooks down fast so add close to last and the corn beef takes a long time to l loosen up so I wouldn’t even add anything until at at least slices easily with knife but your preference.. I like mine to be able to be shredded

  • 8 to 7 lbs of corn beef brisket
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 8 clove peppercorn
  • 8 clove garlic
  • 5 each parsnip
  • 2 each turnip
  • 2 each bay leaves
  • 1 lb fresh carrots
  • 6 large potaotes red-brown
  • 1 lb celery
  • 3 clove cloves – whole
  • 1 1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Wash your 2 – 3 to 4 lbs briskets. You’ll need 2 crockpots or cut recipe in 1/2
  • After washing briskets cut “x’s” into them with knife and put garlic cloves inside.
  • Put everything chopped and into pots for 5-8 hours – usually 6.5 to be on the safe side. All crock pots are different though.
  • Usually briskets come with a seasoning packet too, rub that on brisket before total Cook time.

  • open the corned beef package and put everything including the juices into a Dutch pot
  • put the corned beef with the fat facing the top
  • put just enough water to the pot to cover up the top of the meat
  • add a garlic into the pot
  • chop the onion into quarters and into the pot
  • set everything to a boil and then simmer after boil
  • cooking time on shimmering is 50 mins per pound of meat
  • 30 minutes before is done, put the potatoes into the pot
  • 15 mins be before done, put the cabbage into pot with carrots

    8 to 12 servings

  • 1 lb hamburger meat or stewed meat
  • 3-4 medium potatoes diced
  • 1 soup bone
  • 4-5 carrots diced
  • 2-3 stalks celery diced
  • 1 diced sweet onion
  • 1 large head diced garlic
  • 1 diced jalapeño
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can corn
  • 1 (32 oz) beef broth
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1-3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1-3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cup v-8 juice
  • 2 bay leaves
  • olive oil
  • Optional 1/4 to 1/2 fresh cabbage
  • Steps

    1 to 2 hours

  • Sauté in a large pot the onions, garlic and jalapeños in the olive oil on medium high heat.
  • Add meat, worchestershire sauce, soy sauce, and cook till meat is browned.
  • Add all other ingredients and stir well to mix. Bring to a boil, then cut heat down to medium. Cook till potatoes & carrots are soft 20 to 30 minutes. Turn to simmer till ready to serve. Enjoy! Change
