Apple Cider Poached Pear 😘

  • 1 Good size Pear
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1 cup Apple Cider
  • 1/3 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbls dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbls Greek Yogurt or you can use 4 tbls fresh double cream
  • 1 tsp Almonds crushed
  • Steps

    20 mimutes

  • Add the apple cider to a small to medium pan. Next add the orange juice.
  • Next the star anise and the Cinnamon stick and Vanilla extract. Change
  • Peel and half the pear and just cut out pips. Then lower the heat so as the pears are poached for 10 minutes until you can stick a knife through. Change Change
  • Then take out the pears add to a serving bowl and turn the heat up to medium and boil the juice until it reduces down add the brown sugar and leaves a syrupy texture. Takes up to 10 minutes. Discard the star annise and cinnamon stick and using a spoon pour over the pears. Change Change Change
  • Next you can add yogurt or whipped or just pour some double cream over. And then sprinkle the almonds on top. Change Change Change

  • Poppy Seed Dressing
  • 1 cup Miracle Whip (or mayonnaise)
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds
  • Slaw
  • 3 each Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 each lemon (just the juice)
  • 8 oz carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 cup raisins (dark or golden)
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the dressing ingredients and set aside.
  • Cut the apples into quarters and remove the core. Shred the apples in your food processor. Drain the shredded apples well. I put them in a colander in the sink, place a piece of plastic wrap on top, and squeeze down with a heavy juice bottle. Change
  • Place shredded apples in a large bowl and mix well with the lemon juice. Add remaining slaw ingredients and combine well. Add the poppy seed dressing and stir until evenly coated. (I use a rubber spatula.)
  • NOTE: This loses its crunchiness after about 36 hours, so I recommend you make just as much as will be eaten in a day.
  • Apple Cider Turkey

  • 13-14 lb Turkey (Washed)
  • 4 Oranges
  • Apple Cider
  • 1 cup cosher salt
  • I cup brown sugar
  • Garlic 8-10 cloves(crushed)
  • Ginger 8-10 (slices)
  • 4 Oranges quartered
  • Clean Bucket/cooler (to hold turkey)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbls red pepper flakes
  • Sprigs sage, rosemary, thyme (2 each)
  • Bag ice
  • Steps


  • Warm apple cider and dissolve salt and brown sugar add to bucket with water(just enough to cover turkey)
  • Add cider mixture to bucket with apple cider vinegar, add garlic, ginger, pepper flakes. Place rosemary,thyme, sage.
  • Add Turkey and bag of ice. Marinate overnight in cool area. (Chilled outside or in fridge with ice)
  • Place in roasting pan, pat dry, remove sage,thyme,rosemary
  • Brush extra virgin olive oil on both sides.
  • Cook breast upsidedown add 1 bottle reds alcohol in water [email protected] to 325° for 1hr20min
  • Flip bird right side up baste and cook @300-325 for 1hr/1hr 10min
  • Brush on butter baste and cook till 160° (internal)remove from grill wrap in foil and rest for 1hr.

  • 1 Apple- small
  • 1 Pear- small
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar- or as per taste
  • 1/2 bowl Little milk
  • Steps

  • First take chopped apple chopped Pear and Churn once both in mixer. Now add curd Little milk because it was sour,add sugar. Now churn all together again in mixer. It should be thick. Serve chilled or normal temperature as you like. It’s very fulfilling in fasting.

  • 300 g Iceberg lettuce
  • 1 pc Zucchini
  • 2 pc Red Bellepeppers
  • 100 g Broccoli
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider
  • 20 g Sesame seeds
  • 10 g cilantro
  • to taste Salt. And pepper
  • Water to boil
  • Steps

  • In a hot plate grill all vegetables except lettuce and broccoli. Then set aside.
  • Put water in a pot and bring to boil, add broccoli until its tender. Then set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, add olive oil and slowly put apple cider vinegar while whisking until you reach the right consistency. Add and mix all vegetables, add salt and pepper to taste. make sure all vegetables are coated with the dressings.
  • In a clean serving plate place the lettuce then add all vegetables with dressings then add sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve and enjoy!
